There’s nothing like hard work to make you feel old – and we seem to have been doing a lot of it lately!!

First there was the pesky job of putting a drainage gully at the low point of the drive and providing it with a soakaway. We dug a hole 1 metre square and 1 metre deep.20150416_160204 20150416_160342 Then we had to fill the hole with all the random stones we had dug up over the last year.20150416_173705

And we have made a start on the garage. That’s another 300 concrete blocks to lay20150420_113655 20150420_113715 And we have finally found some topping stones to finish off the wall. Thanks to a kindly neighbour who had some going spare.20150420_113759

Meanwhile May takes a break to count the daffodills 20150420_145811

That is one long job finally finished – nearly

It has taken a while but I have finally finished the stone wall separating us from the road. I nearly ran out of stone – just a wheelbarrow full of rejects left. I have run out of topping stones but I will add those as when I acquire some.We have also now marked out the driveway and turning area including setting heights so the next job is edging stones and more hardcore before we put crushed stone down. Off to Inverness to buy a rotary clothes line today so that we can finally get some clean clothes! (only joking, May has done a good job of washing & drying without outside help.) 20150404_195920 20150404_195950 20150404_200030 20150405_091122 20150405_091125
